November 2014 A Young Adult Paranormal Book Release: Tracking the MagicAny shaman, magician, or witch will tell you magic works best when fueled by focused intent. Which may explain why my muse and spirit guides are screaming to get my attention. Okay, they aren’t actually screaming. They are bombarding me with shamanic signs. I can’t blame them. My magical attention should be focused on November 11, the day Spell For Sophia, the fourth book in my paranormal Young Adult romance series, The Teen Wytche Saga, debuts. That date — 11/11 — a number pairing rich in magic — was their doing. Originally my publisher had scheduled Spell For Sophia for a less auspicious day. When I begged for a different date, she offered me the eleventh. I jumped at it. Eleven-eleven symbolizes new beginnings, illumination, and the powerful pairing of warrior and intuitive energy. Eleven is a high vibration Master Number. Magical release date: 1st sign. Interesting Fact about November 11 (Eleven/eleven) We interrupt these messages from the dead...My work as an author and shaman requires a lot of mental multi-tasking, especially around Halloween when the veil between worlds is the thinnest. Shamans work between realms to heal and seek answers. So many messages come through from the other side this time of year. To refocus my attention, my muse and spirit guides have been invading my dreams with Spell For Sophia and Teen Wytche Saga slogans. When all else fails...The Unseen who aid my writing and shaman career have a unique method to get my attention: they throw, steal, or shatter jewelry. My jewelry. Not just any bauble, they go for earrings and bracelets that have a magical connection. Every major event in my writing or shaman career has been accompanied by paranormal jewelry activity. For example, after a private druid-led ceremony inside Stonehenge, a bracelet given to me by a Wiccan High Priestess shattered. Before my first book, Spell Check, won a major writing competition, another bracelet given to me by the same priestess, mysteriously disappeared. Pierced earrings have flown off my ears and reappeared at me feet with their backs magically reattached. This time, a dragonfly (a shamanic totem) earring vanished. Magic always has a price. Spell For Sophia is the story of a bright foster teen whose life is derailed when she contacts her lawless bio-parents. Deceived, betrayed, and kidnapped, Sophia’s survival depends upon her mastering magic. Breaux, her forbidden love, will tumble through time to protect her. Ainslie, best friend extraordinaire, will risk her sanity to find Sophia. But can any of them outrun Sophia’s bad mojo? Spell For Sophia releases November 11 at all major online book retailers. Please help me spread the magic. I’d love to add: Hearing from happy fans: the 4th sign. |
